DIRECTOR POSITION AT AVALON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Avalon Christian School is seeking resumes through July 28 to fill the open position of school director.  This is an administrative position in which the director oversees the functional and daily operations of a Christian preschool following established course curriculums.  The director reports to the school's board, integrates with the church's children's ministry, and is a staff member of the church under the supervision of the senior pastor. Resumes should be delivered to:
Avalon Christian School Board, Avalon Missionary Church
 1500 Lower Huntington Road,
 Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819

PRAYER ROOM OPPORTUNITIES
Now that the Prayer Room is open, one new avenue of ministry will be praying for our worship services and Sunday school on Sunday morning.  Our Prayer Team would love to have people praying in the Prayer Room each Sunday morning for what's taking place in the worship center and in the classrooms across our campus.  Would you be willing to take a turn, perhaps once a month, to be in the Prayer Room during one of our services, praying for what God is doing right then?  Sign up sheets are at the Welcome Center this morning.  Feel free to drop by the table and sign up for a time when you're willing to pray.  Do you have questions?  If so, feel free to give our Prayer Team leader, Don Gerber, a call at 436-4932.

FUNDRAISER FOR THE YOUTH MISSION TRIP
16 Students participating in our Summer mission trip to New York will be in the foyer today selling pre-sale tickets for a Nelson Chicken Fundraiser.  Cost for the tickets is $6.  The chicken will be available at Avalon following 2nd service on August 1.  If you are interested in pre-sale tickets, but are not able to purchase them today, please call the church office at 747-1531 this week, and we will make sure to reserve your chicken!   You  will also be able to purchase chicken on August 1st, but it will help to know how much chicken to order if there are a lot of pre-sale orders.  Pre-sale orders can be picked up at noon at the West campus. We really appreciate your participation in this and our other fund-raisers!

Our students are going to have an incredible opportunity to serve while in New York.  We will be working with Jeff Getz and his ministry.  Some of our service activities may include painting in a facility that will enable Jeff to expand his ministry, serving in local schools, and engaging New York residence in conversation.   This will be a unique service experience that I'm sure will stand forever in our kids lives as a benchmark on their faith journey.  Please be in prayer that God will use this trip in our students lives and be a blessing in the lives of the people who we come in contact with.  Thank you for your prayer and support!

AUGUST 2ND- YOU'RE INVITED TO A KITCHEN SHOWER

FOOD PANTRY
ITEM OF THE WEEK

FOOD PANTRY  - jelly
Thank you for your generosity in giving to the Food Pantry. If you haven't given before,  we would ask that you prayerfully consider giving to our pantry, now especially because the Community Harvest Food Bank has been very low  on stock .  Along with the regular item of the week the pantry can always use plastic grocery bags.
The pantry is averaging 100 families weekly and would appreciate male helpers to assist with carrying.  If you would like to get involved or need assistance contact Ginny Bilby (639-3874).

THANK YOUs

THANK YOU
Only when you have been on the receiving end of the outpouring of love and support of the Avalon people, can you truly appreciate that love.  As one who has been the recipient, "thank you" is so inadequate . but will have to do.  My surgery went well because of your prayers. Thank you Pastor Keith and dear friends of Avalon.
