A UNIQUE ELEMENT OF THIS LEAGUE IS THE GAME FORMAT

Referees lead both teams in prayer at midfield before every game. Games consist of two -18-minute halves and an 5-minute halftime. Game clock stops every 6 minutes for predetermined substitutions.(3 minutes in instructional leagues) Teams will switch goals at halftime. Scores are not kept in the instructional leagues. No league standing are maintained in any league. Players not in the game will stand on the same side of the field with their coaches. All coaches will adhere to the substitution rules as detailed to the right.

SUBSTITUTIONS The substitution system is designed to provide every player equal opportunity for improvement. The substitution system ensures that: Every child will play at least half of the game. No child will sit out more than six minutes at a time. Every child will have an opportunity to be in the starting lineup. In most cases, each child will play against someone of equal ability. Coaches are not open to making unfair substitutions. Playing time for all players is virtually even over the course of the season. Every child will play goalkeeper at least one segment every other game. Goalkeeper will rotate every segment.

Outside of these special rules, the National Federation of High School Associations Rule Book governs play.
